ELECTRO DEIONIZATION (EDI) SYSTEMS

EDI is a process of water purification through continuous electro-chemical processes, which are replaced by special ion membranes, mixed bed resins and DC voltage, standard acidic-caustic chemical regeneration process. EDI Cells contain a series of thin chambers; these chambers also contain mixed bed resin as an alternative to remove impurities in water treatment. Ion-Specific membranes decompose the chambers as anionic and the other part cationic.

EDI systems are specially designed according to the needs and produce pure water for the pharmaceutical, energy and industrial sectors.

While product water quality does not change over time in EDI systems, product water quality decreases as resin begins to move to saturation phase in renewable ion removal.

The most obvious benefit of EDI systems is the elimination of the regeneration process and the absence of regeneration chemicals – acids and caustics that may pose a danger. EDI systems do not have regeneration labor and chemical costs, instead they spend a small amount of electricity and can work continuously 24/7.

Since most of the pollution in the water is dissolved salts, the deionization process usually produces high cleaning water close to pure water, which is fast and prevents the formation of sediment as a result of precipitation.
